Visuray Concludes Two-Well Campaign for Statoil

Published 16.01.2017
Visuray performed its second downhole X-ray diagnostic operation offshore Norway on 14 September 2016. The operation was performed with Altus Intervention AS and Welltec on a Statoil asset.

The imaging objective was to obtain information about a downhole restriction. Visuray’s VR90 X-ray tool successfully provided a series of imaging sequences that revealed the nature of the restriction and facilitated a subsequent fishing operation.

The completion of this second job marks the conclusion of a two well VR90 trial campaign. Visuray’s first offshore operation on a Statoil asset took place in July 2016, and also yielded positive results.

‘We are extremely proud to have completed a second operation in close collaboration with Altus Intervention AS and Welltec. This has proven the reliability of the VR90 downhole X-ray diagnostic service,’ says Sergey Feoktistov, Sales Director Europe. ‘This is a significant milestone for Visuray as an oilfield service company, and we look forward to helping operators in the North Sea and other sectors diagnose well problems through X-ray imaging.’
