Visuray®, the pioneer of X-ray diagnostics for the international oil and gas industry, announced today that it is adding two new tools to its range. The family of tools will be known as the Visuray Downhole X-Ray Platform.
Building on the success of its VR90 downhole X-ray diagnostic tool, first introduced in 2015, the new Visuray VR90s advanced diagnostic tool will make its field debut in the second quarter of 2017. The VR90s, rated to 125 deg C and available in a slimmer 3 3/8-in housing, offers enhanced measurement capability with millimetric scanning of zones of interest for closer diagnosis of in-well details, debris, or damage. This ability is further enhanced by a wider field of view for more complete imaging of target objects.
Visuray also announced the development of the VR360 diagnostic cement evaluation service that has been launched after attracting industry funding. The VR360 sideways-looking tool provides the industry’s first and only direct measurement of cement behind and between two different casing strings and will open markets for Visuray services in new well construction and old well abandonment.
