Occasionally items such as hand tools are dropped into wells. This poses a serious problem as the item can obstruct the well or damage downhole equipment. These lost-in-hole items must be fished or milled out to enable well operations to proceed.
In such cases, fishing is much more likely to succeed when the size, shape and position of the fish are known. Images obtained with the VR90 provide this information in real-time regardless of the well fluid.
The 2D image and 3D reconstruction (middle and bottom right), were obtained in Visuray’s test facility and demonstrate the high accuracy and resolution of the VR90 imaging tool. Dimensionally precise results allow an operator to assess the situation quickly and plan an efficient fishing operation
